Acticoat 7 is a compress with a special dressing that contains silver. It is used for prevention and treatment of infections in wounds. Silver is known for it's anti-microbacterial qualities. The regular Acticoat lasts for 3 days, but the Acticoat 7 lasts for 7 days. First the wound needs to be rinsed with saline solution and make sure to clean and dry the area after rinsing. Moisturise the compress with sterile water (no saline), moisture activate the silver ions. Cut the compress to the right size if needed and make sure to put the blue side on the wound. Cover the area with a secundary bandage to preserve the moist. When the wound is leaking heavily, the secundary bandage needs to be changed daily. Make sure to keep the Acticoat on the wound. Acticoat 7 cannot be used in combination with antibiotics, ointment compresses and MRI tests.
